Bloom Blocks 11 & 12, Splendid Sampler Blocks, April "Finish It" Quilt

The Bloom blocks are coming along nicely and I can't wait to see this quilt put together.  We only need eight more blocks to go.  Below are blocks 11 and 12:

Block 11

This block was so quick and easy, one bloom, one stem and two leaves!

Block 12

This one took a little longer but it was still quick to make.

I had never done a sew along as well as purchasing the kit of fabric, this was a first for me and I can tell you it won't be the last.  It was nice not having to pick out fabrics for this one especially when the colors are so sweet.

Another sew along I am doing is The Splendid Sampler, you can go to "The Splendid Sampler.com" if you are interested in this one.  There are two blocks each week, one on Thursday and one on Sunday.  This is a year long sampler and you can join at any time.  Below are the latest blocks I have finished:

Above are blocks 6, 12 and 13 and they will finish at 6" square when all sewn together.  Even though there are lots of pieces, they were easy to put together.  The hardest part is choosing the fabrics.

The seven blocks above are blocks, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13.  I am a little behind on some of the other blocks but it's okay, I work at my own speed.  This sew along will last until 2017 and will include 100 blocks.  I am working on the ones that I like the most and then when time permits (if time permits) I may go back and work on some of the ones I have skipped.

Block 7 above, is "Snug As a Bug", I made it two different ways and I don't know which I like best, but I don't have to decide right now.  I will see how I am going to set the blocks and then I will see which one goes better in my quilt.

This is my "Finish It" quilt for our guild.  Those who are participating, each chose 10 projects to finish within 2016 and listed them from 1 through 10.  The leaders choose a number for the month and that is the quilt or project we are to finish.  If you finish your project you are included in a drawing for a prize (what a nice incentive).  This little flimsy is on it's way to my Sister-in-law and longarm quilter "Grace" who I know will do a beautiful job as always.  I will post another picture once it is done.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
