Bloom Blocks 13, 14, 15 & Patriotic items, A Splendid Sampler Block & Daryl's gift

When I started this blog a couple of months ago I thought I would be posting more often, but life gets in the way.  It's already May and I have a few things to show you.  First off are my Bloom Blocks #'s 13, 14 & 15, I am so happy with how these are coming along.

 Here is my Bloom Block #13 and was really quick and easy to make up.

Block # 15, isn't this just a pretty block with hearts for the petals?

 

This block is one of the Splendid Sampler Blocks that I hadn't finished last post and now is ready for show-n-tell.  I am falling a little behind, well a lot behind on these blocks because of prior commitments but after June I will have more time to dedicate to these 6.5" blocks.

This Patriotic Mug Rug is for a very nice quilter and I appreciate what she did for me, I hope she enjoys it.  Hopefully she will be at the meeting on Thursday and I can give it to her.

It's no secret that one of my favorite blocks is the Dresden Block, this is a tiny little one that I was playing around with, it measures 3.5" and the whole block measures 5.5".  I think I will make a few more leaving off the ribbon to hang it and using them as coasters.

At our guild they are collecting idea's for our Fiber Art's Fiesta fund raiser, I found this pattern online and whipped up a couple for show-n-tell, who knows there may be a few of these in the $5 bags next May.  I gave the one with the buttons to a good friend of mine and I am keeping the one with the spools on it.  I will be making up a few more for a donation to our guild's fund raiser.

 

This wonderful gift was given to me by one of my best friends, she knows I have some health issues and found a great book "No Grain, No Pain", it's about eating right to eliminate pain.  How thoughtful she is, and not only did she buy me the book, she made a book cover in these delicious fabrics with fruits and vegetables, aren't I lucky.  Then she made me the cutest post card with a heartfelt message on the back, in short "Call if you need me".  Thank You Daryl, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and most of all your friendship.  You can go over to her blog at "Patchouli Moon Studios" and see the beautiful items she makes and posts on her blog.
